DataWise Digital Leaders 100 Press Release
Leeds start-up nominated for Digital Leaders 100 prize.
A pioneering Leeds Data Protection company has been nominated for a prestigious national award – just six months after starting up.
Data Protection People, who help organisations reduce the risk of Data Protection breaches and cyber-attacks, has been nominated for a Digital Leaders 100 award.
The awards, which will take place in London on June 15, honour the highest achievements among digital leaders, influencers and innovators.
The Leeds start-up faces competition from nine others in the ‘Cyber Resilience Innovation of the Year’ category.
Their nomination is for their new product DataWise, which allows customers to manage their Data Protection in one single, easy-to-use dashboard.
The DataWise portal provides practical features and templates for Data Protection compliance, allowing organisations to automate and control many of the mandatory tasks to meet the existing Data Protection standards and prepare for the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), which are due to come into force in May 2018.
The firm, which already boasts customers across the UK and Europe such as Medecins sans Frontieres, WaterAid, Everton Football Club and over 15 Housing Associations, was only formed in late 2015.
Data Protection People are led by four experts with experience in senior roles in public and private sectors in information governance and data protection management; Phil Brining, David Hendry, Andrew Mason and Robin Hill.
Hendry, Sales and Marketing Director, commented: “We’re really proud to have been nominated for such a prestigious award so soon after forming the company.”
“We’re especially pleased that DataWise has been given recognition in this category which is so often filled with technical solutions to information security, rather than tools like DataWise which target the control of people and process.”
“In our experience the tech measures are only as good as the weakest person. DataWise is a key part of our strategy to help customers take control of their own data protection. We’re delighted it has received this fully-merited recognition.”
The Digital Leaders 100 website explains the significance of their ‘Cyber Resilience Innovation of the Year’ category as such:
“Moving public data to the cloud, the increasing number of cyber-attacks and the need to develop new skills and systems within organisations as well as the ‘human factor’ are all now high profile challenges to Cyber Resilience.”
“This award is for a product or service, which in the last year has delivered a measurable impact or outcome in this area.”
