Phil Brining: Consulting Director
Phil Brining, as the organisation operations director responsible for the delivery of all of our services. Phil has a broad range of project, operations, and consulting experience over several industries and has practiced as a data protection and information governance specialist since 2006 engaged by several multi-national organisations as well as many small to medium sized businesses and charities. To compliment his experience Phil has an LLM masters degree in information rights law and practice and is a QSA in the field of PCI DSS. Outside of data protection and information rights law Phil enjoys dinghy sailing, skiing, camping and spending time with his family.
David Hendry: Sales Director
Dave brings over 20 years experience in business to business sales to Data Protection People as the organisations sales director and provides an undoubted passion for sales and a continuous drive to succeed. Dave’s passion for security and keeping his clients data secure led him into becoming one of the companies founders back in 2015. Born and raised in Leeds, Dave is a proud “Yorkshireman” who actively follows Leeds United, Leeds Rhino’s and Yorkshire Cricket. In his spare time he is a keen squash player, although as he is married with three young children the amount of time he can devote to this hobby is reducing rapidly!
David Holmes: Consulting Services Manager
David Holmes, as the Consulting Services Manager is responsible for the services delivered by the Consulting team. David has over 10 years’ experience in direct marketing and data protection and has worked for Data Protection People for over three years. To compliment David’s experience, he has a Master’s Degree (LLM) in Information Rights Law and Practice awarded by Northumbria University. David’s LLM compliments is first Law degree (LL. B (Hons) Commercial Law and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice qualification. Outside of data protection David enjoys travelling, mountain trekking and a range of outdoor activities.
Oliver Rear: Data Protection Consultant
Having obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Leeds, Oliver, or Oli for those in the know, joined Data Protection People in 2019. After spending 18 months in the DPP Support Desk handling day-to-day queries Oli took his Data Protection Practitioner’s course and graduated into a field consultant. Now he splits his time between driving compliance projects for some clients, acting as an outsourced DPO for others and assisting the new recruits on the Support Desk. In his down time Oli is into his music and can often be found at gigs across Leeds. He is also a proud Chelsea Football Club fan and enjoys some “friendly” competition with the rival fans in the DPP offices!
Tara Halfpenny: Data Protection Consultant
Tara joined DPP in July 2021 as a Data Protection Consultant and has been working in Data Privacy and Security for the last 3 years. Tara is also currently undertaking an MSc in Cyber Security, has completed her ISO27001 Lead Auditor certification and is also working towards the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualifications. Outside of work, Tara Is a keen netball player, which gives her many injuries and she will soon be doing her C award umpiring course whilst she’s out on injury.
Jasmine Harrison: Support Desk Consultant
Jasmine has been with DPP since September 2020 and while it is her first job within the industry, she carry with her a First Class LLB to assist in her role. Jasmine works on the Support Desk providing guidance to clients with any data protection related queries that they may have. This can range from anything between reviewing risk assessments, agreements, or procedures, to providing clients with ad hoc advice in order to improve compliance with data protection legislation within their organisation. Outside of work, Jasmine lives by the F word… Friends, Family, Fitness, Football, and FOOD.
Matthew Worswick: Data Protection Graduate Trainee
Matthew joined DPP as a Graduate Trainee in January 2021, having obtained a First Class Honours degree from the University of Manchester and a Masters from the University of Law. He has also obtained his Practitioner Certificate in Data Protection. Matthew is hard working, versatile and enjoys the variety of work within his role, from reviewing documents and contracts to writing longer advice notes that involve researching the topic. He has also taken on several compliance reviews for clients. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys volunteering as a Scout leader. He also enjoys composing his own music and writing screenplays.
Zoe Connolly: Data Protection Graduate Trainee
Zoe joined Data Protection People in June 2021 as a Data Protection Graduate Trainee. Zoe has recently graduated with a First-class degree in LLB Law, her main role is working on the support desk assisting clients with queries and providing assistance to ensure clients are compliant to current data protection legislation. Born and bred in Wigan Zoe is a big Warriors fan. She enjoys music, cocktails and walking her dogs in her free time.
Eve Hobson: Data Protection Apprentice
Eve joined Data Protection People in June 2021 as a Paralegal Apprentice and has recently completed her A-Levels in Law, Sociology and English Language. Her main role is working on the support desk, where she answers queries and provides advice to clients so that they can comply with Data Protection Legislation. She plans to progress within the company and gain further knowledge in the field of Data Protection. In her spare time, Eve enjoys socialising, drinking, and spending her money on things she doesn’t need.
Rob Wilkinson: Business Development Manager
Rob is a tenacious and highly driven information security and data protection business development manager. He has attained a BA Honours degree in Business Studies, achieving first class in sales management. Rob understands the fundamentals of how companies work and the criteria behind a successful relationship between customer and supplier. Having joined DPP in 2018, Rob is the longest serving member of the sales team and also came up with the idea of DPP’s ever popular Lunchtime Takeaway Series which is growing with popularity each week!
Outside of work, Rob is a big Bradford Bulls and rugby league fan.
Brian Green: Business Development Manager
Brian has been working in the Data Privacy and Security events sector for the last 3 years. Brian has over 20 years’ experience building relationships with new clients and maintaining them. Brian is a tenacious and highly driven information security and data protection business development manager. Brian understands the fundamentals of how companies work and the criteria behind a successful relationship between customer and supplier. Brian has been helping customers adhere to various compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, NIS Directive and ISO 27001.
Joe Kirk: Business Development Manager
Joe is a Leeds Beckett university alumnus. He joined Data Protection People in June 2021, shortly after graduating from his Sports Coaching degree he studied for three years. Joe gained vital skills while at university such as relationship building and problem solving. His role within the business is to work closely with the rest of the sales team as a business development executive. The industry in which Joe prioritises is the education industry. Joe is a huge Derby County fan and has had a season ticket since he was 3. In his spare time, he likes to DJ and produce music.
Temitope Bankole: Data Protection Executive
Temi is an experienced Business Development Executive with a demonstrated history of working in the information services industry. Skilled in Sales, Communication, English, Teamwork, and Leadership. She is a strong business development professional with a Bachelor’s degree focused in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Nottingham Trent University. In her spare time Temi enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Myles Dacres: Digital Marketing Manager
Myles joined Data Protection People as a Business Development Manager just before the Pandemic hit in March 2020. When he joined, the company did little to no marketing and relied on word of mouth and recommendations to attract new business. Myles took on the role of Marketing Manager in March 2021 and now manages events, webinars, and digital marketing for the whole organisation. Outside of work Myles is a musician and an ex international Ice Hockey player. He represented Great Britain at two world championships and now plays for fun in his hometown of Bradford.
